July 31: Boucle Bag

Pattern # 212:  Boucle Bag

This is actually an English translation of a Japanese pattern.  I LOVE how cute this bag is.  I do not think I would use it though.  I should finish this by Christmas for one of my sisters.

Winner & Another Giveaway

Remember the giveaway for Bella's La Push Beanie last week?   Well Jolin Country won, because she was the only entrant!  Congrats to her!

But, I was a bit discouraged because only 1 person signed up for the giveaway.  Only 1, seriously?!  But a new blog friend, who is such an inspiration, pointed out that it might be because everyone else wants to just make their own.  And that is a great point.  So I tried to think of another way to reward my readers.  I love you guys and you make this journey of mine even more wonderful for me.  So I have a few options.  And you can let me know what you think!

Option 1:  Homemade Tea Towel Apron.  I made a bunch of these awhile back, with the plans of listing them on etsy,  but it has just never happened.  You can choose one of the aprons, if you are the winner.

Option 2:  Dvds.  I am getting rid of some dvds.  I was going to sell them at a garage sale, but I thought you all might appreciate them more.  So I will giveaway one of the following dvds, you just let me know which one you want: Coyote Ugly, Juno, any season (yes the whole season) of Grey's Anatomy or Dawson's Creek (except season 1, I don't have that one).  Pretty awesome, right?  Something new to watch while you crochet!  haha

I will giveaway 1 apron and 1 dvd.  Just cuz I'm nice like that ;)  haha

The rules.
Giveaway goes until next Tuesday, August 3rd, at midnight.  I will announce the winners on Wednesday.  You can enter for both prizes, just leave a comment for each, saying which apron (all are options, I just showed 3 in detail) or dvd. Those who are followers automatically get entered for a bonus prize.  Oooh, I know.  And you can get one extra entry for blogging or tweeting about it.  I'm not gonna make a big deal, because it is mostly to thank my loyal readers.  Oh and I will ship overseas :)  If you can list your favorite pattern (not yet listed on ced) or designer, I would totally love that. But it is not necessary!

For those of you who are new here -- welcome to Crochet Every Day!  I hope you continue to join my on my adventure.  Check out my about page for why I started, and completed projects for my progress.

Love you all!  -Meg

July 28: Big Girl Dish Scrubbie - COMPLETED

Pattern # 209:  Big Girl Dish Scrubbie

This pattern is from a reader.  It is her very first pattern design!  I am so excited to share it with you all today.  You have to check out her blog, it is soo cute!  She has the most wonderful sounding recipe for a chai latte on the sidebar -- I need to try it out asap!

If you are a reader and have designed a pattern that you would like to show up here, just let me know.  It needs to be free though.  I can always highlight your purchase patterns, but I try to post free daily patterns.  And if you need someone to test one out - let me know. I am always in need of pattern testers as well!

-------

I am so excited to share this finished picture with you.  I wasn't sure how much I would like this scrubby (especially because I made her newer, for purchase patterns first); but I truly love it.  It is a perfect size to fit right in my hands.  Check out Ravelry for pics of the other scrubbys that I made.

July 27: Pineapple Lace Shawl

Pattern #208:  Pineapple Lace Shawl

This pattern has some background information.  So here goes! haha  I go to a wonderful Bible study on Wednesday nights.  We are doing a Beth Moore study called Breaking Free.  It is FANTASTIC!   I love it.  If you haven't done a Beth Moore study.  You must.  She is a hoot! haha  Anyways, back to the crochet.  One of the ladies had these gorgeous doilies in her house.  She explained how a little old housebound lady made them, because she was bored and loved it.  I assumed it was tatting, and did not look too closely.  But the other day I took a look at them and realized they were crocheted.  Tiny, gorgeous, crochet.  It inspired me to find some more lacy / intricate crochet patterns.  There are actual doilies to come later this week, but I LOVE this shawl.  No idea where I would wear it, but it is gorgeous!

July 22: Licorice Allsorts - COMPLETED

Pattern #203: Licorice Allsorts
This fun pattern is another sweet for your play kitchen. I think it would take all of 5 minutes to make these, as well.

-------------------

Updated June 17, 2014: I thought about making a whole collection of little allsorts. A bunch of candies for someone's little one to play with. Then I realized I would much rather finish as many project as I can and come back to this later. So here is one allsort. Nothing spectacular, but enough to call this complete! Plus it used up a teeny tiny bit of yarn, and is adorable. Win!

200th pattern giveaway!

I can't believe I am at 200 patterns! It is a record! And I have 21 followers. It's not a lot, but I feel loved that people like my blog! :) So I wanted to give you all a little love as well. Remember that Bella beanie that I made last month?

Well I wanted to give it away! If you are a Twilight fan, or if you just like beanies, go ahead and try to win this baby. It is super comfy. I have a small head, but it is actually pretty big on me, so it should fit anyone.

What do you have to do to win? Just go ahead and leave me a comment. I am in need of some pattern inspiration, so leave me a link to your favorite pattern. Or your favorite pattern site. Or your Ravelry name, if we are not yet friends there. And you don't have to be a follower to win, but you will get an extra chance if you are. You can also get an extra chance to win if you post about this on your blog or twitter or whatever. So you have a total of 3 chances to win (pattern / comment, follower, twitter/ blog), and leave a comment for each one.

General: Giveaway will be open until Sunday July 25th at midnight, California time. I will choose a winner on Monday and you have 3 days to get back to me. Make sure you either leave an email in your comment or that your profile is enabled with your email (so I can reply to the comment).

[and in the off chance the beanie is too small, I will make you a new one :) ]

July 19: Toast

Pattern #200: Toast

I love Hannah's pattern at Bittersweet, and this is no exception! I really hope that someday I have daughters who want a play kitchen -- or a son. Either way, I just hope I have someone to appreciate all this crocheted food. hahaha Oh yeah and I'm just gonna make the toast slice, not the purse.

Pattern #199: Donut

It's another food week over here at Crochet Every Day, and I'm excited to share this donut recipe with you. It's low sugar and low cal. hehe I love crochet food... not sure why... but I do! Maybe I am more excited about it because of my new book - Tasty Crochet. It's a lot of fun!

Updated August 20, 2013: This donut is done! So fun! Super easy to make! I think I prefer the frosted version, but this is still cute!

Recently Finished Projects

I have been very busy lately and I thought I would let you all know what I have been up to. If you ever want to see what I have finished, check out my completed projects page.

What do you think? Have you all finished any projects lately? I would love to hear about them! And if you made anything from a pattern that I suggested, please send me a picture! Or maybe I can make a flickr group. What do you think?

July 17: Flowers in the Snow Blanket - COMPLETED

Pattern #198: Hexagon Throw

I spent the past few days going through my friend's queues on Ravelry and finding fun new things to crochet. I cannot remember who had this in her queue, but I immediately fell in love with it! Now I just need to finish my heart square blanket (my friend's baby is due in 4 days), so I can get started on something new!

----------------------------

Updated August 14, 2014: So I already crocheted a hexagon blanket. As has happened a few times before, I didn't realize that I posted basically the same pattern. So I tossed the hexagon one and created this one instead -- Flowers in the Snow. I love how it came out. Seriously, one of my most favorite blankets so far!

July 16: Laura's Headband -- COMPLETED

Pattern #197: Laura's Headband

I have featured Laura's patterns a few times here on CED, but here is another. I love this cute little headband. And if you have some cash, you should buy some of her for sale patterns. They are just too cute! Laura and her sister also have some cute fabric for sale in their shop right now. Check them out!

---------------------------

Updated December 10, 2013: I finished this headband as a part of my recent headband kick. I love it. I didn't think I was going to, but I really do. Mine is much smaller / not as wide as hers, but I prefer it that way.

As you can see, I styled it two different ways. I used her crochet chain across the back, instead of elastic, so it works either way. Not sure which I like better!

July 15: Star Ornament - COMPLETED

Pattern #196: Star Ornament

Christmas in July, you ask? Well, it's time to start crocheting for Christmas, if you want to get things done! These would be perfect for putting on top of a gift. I love the simplicity and elegance of this pattern.

--------------------

Updated 11/7/2011: This star was super simple to make and turned out really cute. I wanted to just get something done, and this fit the bill perfectly. I think all of my gifts will be adorned with a crocheted ornament this year. I really like some snowflakes that I made with crochet thread though, so I will probably stick to those!
